We are a small kennel, occasionally producing litters of well bred, healthy and balanced boxer puppies that are raised in a home environment amongst our family to ensure that they become happy, well adjusted adult dogs.
How SASSYHOPE started
Several years ago we were given a boxer dog to look after for what we thought was a few weeks. Sassy1 stayed with us for many years of giving us and her many years of companionship and mutual happiness until she became very poorly July 2003.
It was heart wrenching to see her suffer and although letting her be put to sleep was the hardest thing we have ever done, she was finally pain free and at rest.
We began looking for another boxer dog and had considered a rescue boxer but decided to find a puppy that we could give a good home too have from an early age. We came across JIMBREN Boxers and fell in love with what is now Sassy2. On the day of collecting Sassy2 we also brought home Hope or Hopey as we now call her. We learnt a lot having two puppies from one litter but looking back we would never have changed a thing.
For many years my dogs have been my hobby as well as my obsession and the bond with each and every dog is special. If you work with the personality of the dog you will harness a relationship that humans have enjoyed with dogs for years.
Wherever we are walking out or having friends and family around entertaining everyone comments on the unique relationship you can harness between a dog and a person. I believe dogs picks up on our human feelings before we might even feel the feelings ourself. If you give a dog love and food and kindness the dog will repay it ten thousand times with more love, companionship and help you connect with something only dog owners would understand.
Breeding
We were surprised at just how much was involved in actually breeding healthy boxer dogs and learnt such a lot from the experiences. We were lucky that in the beginning we had Brenda and Steve at the end of the phone and the Vets just up the road.If you choose to breed your dog in the future we again will be on hand to help you you. Doughball the stud dog is the grandfather to this actual litter – we really enjoyed helping dougballs owners though the tricky and scary moments a birth can present.
On-going help and support
We keep in touch with all new owners of our puppies and offer ongoing help and support, from training your boxer dog to advice on breeding your dog if this is what you want to do.
